Happy Monday, everyone! Although Mondays are not a favorite to everyone, I love the idea of being able to hit the rewind button and have the opportunity to start over each week. And what better way to have a fresh start than to revamp your skin care routine?

Here are my fav products that are a part of my morning & nightly routines!

M O R N I N G ☼

  1. Banila Co. Clean It Zero Foam Cleanser: I started using this face wash back in February and just bought my second bottle. It feels so luxurious and a teeny-tiny dab goes a long way! I make sure to wash my face for 60 seconds and bring the product down my neck to the top of my chest, this activates the product and ensures it is working! Every other day I like to use my Conair True Glow Skinpod Silicone Cleansing Brush to exfoliate a little too!

  2. Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner: This product is a continuous staple in my routine! After washing my face I use a cotton ball and saturate it, running it all over my face, neck and chest in circular motions. I also like to dab this on my face in between each product for extra hydration!

  3. Bliss Glow & Hydrate Day Serum: I have written about this product before, this is the best thing I have ever discovered! I pump once and gently dab the product in all over my face using my fingertips. This serum is so light, it feels so nice and isn't oily or heavy on my face throughout the day!

  4. Honest Beauty Vitamin C Radiance Serum: Made with a blend of artichoke and clover extract, it gives your skin a radiant glow. This product suggest use for morning & night, but I prefer to use it in the morning to make me look more awake.

  5. e.l.f. Daily Hydration Moisturizer: I have always been a big fan of e.l.f. and when I discovered their skin care line I was not disappointed! This moisturizer is so creamy, but feels so light on the skin. The packaging looks like all of the other *high end* products out there too!

  6. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen: This is my HOLY GRAIL spf, whew this baby is life changing! Thank you to the twitter skin care gods for putting this product on my radar! It took me forever & tons of money to find the best spf that didn't leave a white cast or make me look greasy. It rubs in so well and is a perfect makeup gripping primer. I don't leave the house without it, I even have a mini one in my purse in case I am outside for long periods of time.

N I G H T

  1. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil: Thanks to the *not so new* oil cleansing trends, I got this baby in a skin care sample box from Ulta's Christmas Clearance rack! Since oil attracts oil, this is great to use before beginning your nightly routine! Using dry hands apply a puddle of this product to your DRY face and rub it in for as long as you want. Some nights I only do it for 60 seconds, other nights I'll throw on an episode of Suite Life of Zack & Cody and mindlessly rub it into my face for the duration of the episode. What I love about this product is you can see the oil plugs coming out of your face! One of my favorite estheticians I have discovered on Twitter has a Youtube video all about oil cleansing, check out the video here! She is the one I have to thank for really getting myself into skin care!

  2. Banila Co. Clean It Zero Foam Cleanser: After I am done oil cleansing I wipe it off with a steamed wash cloth and then wash my face as normal!

  3. Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner: Just like in the morning, I swipe a cotton ball saturated in toner to get anything else that could possibly still be in my pores.

  4. The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution*: This is one of the first Ordinary products I have purchased, but you have to be really careful with it! I use it as a mask, applying as my fourth step, making sure my face is completely dry. I make sure to only use this when I do not have any open cuts or breakouts on my face. It feels like there are a million tiny needles poking your skin. This product is only meant to be used twice a week and ONLY at night. Your skin will need the night to repair afterwards and you do not want to expose yourself to sunlight! *It is not a peel off mask, and does not (at least not for me!!) peel your skin off!

  5. Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner: As I stated above, I like to use this toner in between each step to add more hydration to my face! Especially after doing a mask like this one.

  6. The Ordinary Mandelic Acid: Just like the peeling solution this product should not be used every day! I like to use this one every other day, it is perfect for uneven skin tone and fine lines. I am using this product more preemptively! This is another product that should only be used at night, it even comes in a darker bottle to protect it from UV rays. I do not use this product in conjunction with the peeling solution.

  7. Bliss Glow & Hydrate Day Serum: I use this product just like I do in the mornings!

  8. Differin: This is an Adapalene acne treatment which also works as a prescription strength blackhead retinoid. I like to use this as spot treatment at night and without fail I wake up the next morning with my spots almost gone. It is a lifesaver, but you have to be careful not to dry your skin out. Do not use this product every night.

  9. Cerave Healing Ointment: This another holy grail product, this is also another product discovered by the skin care twitter gods. @caveofbeauty on twitter has taught me so much about skin care, after discovering her page last summer I rented so many books from the library to enlighten myself about all things skin care! I use this as my nightly moisturizer, you could also use vaseline if you have some laying around. The point of using an occlusive at night is to lock in all the moisture and help repair your moisture barrier which in turn will help with all of your skin concerns!

Obviously I am not a board certified Dermatologist or a licensed Esthetician, but, I have done so much research and trial and error to find the best products for myself. My friends and family may tease me about my products, but doing this makes me happy and makes me feel good and that is what matters. And even though I am only 22, I know by taking care of myself now I will be grateful in the long run!

I hope this post finds you well and inspires you to take care of your skin, stay safe out there!

xoxo, talk soon!
